Newsletter: Acceptance April 09

Have you noticed how impatient we are as a community of beings? We want what we want right now. With the hint of spring we anticipate summer. With the heat of the summer we desire the cool of the fall. It seems like a never ending desire of being in the future.

In all, this isn't a bad thing. It only becomes complicated and messy when we aren't accepting where we are and enjoying every single moment of it. There is a flow to life that cannot be hurried. If you notice nature, it follows that process quite loyally. Only recently with global warming has nature become confused. But even in that confusion it tries to return back to it's own flow.

Can you imagine if the trees grumbled to mother nature, "You know, I have been standing in this cold for 5 months now. Isn't it about time you did something about it? Come on, come on, let's get with the program. I have leaves to grow and squirrels to annoy."

Sounds kinda silly huh :) After all by allowing the process of the seasons there is so much abundance in New England. But that's what we do. We all seem to want what we don't have instead of accepting where we are. With each impatient moment we push against the flow of happiness that is waiting for us. May it be money, health, wealth, peace.

What if you simply accepted, even for a brief moment that you are perfectly where you need to be. There is nothing wrong with where you are. You're simply flowing in the direction of your dreams. Could you allow that acceptance to radiate through you? Play with this meditation and see what resistance comes up.

Find a comfortable space to sit and relax. Breathe in and out comfortably 3-4 times. Think about something you are impatient about. With your next out breathe, imagine it leaving your body. With you r next in breathe intend to yourself that you're perfect where you are. Do this for a few minutes and see how you feel. If there is any resistance left.

Be well, Mona
