Newsletter:Clutter March 09
Spring as we all know is a time to de-clutter. Our natural instincts to let go of the stuffiness of winter takes over. We feel the desire to plant anew. As we let go of the physical clutter in our life it is also a good time to let go of mental clutter. Mental clutter shows itself as procrastinating and avoidance of things we think we should do. Write a list of 10 things that you know needs to be dealt with but you have been avoiding. Rate them on a scale of 1-10. 10 being of highest priority and 1 being least. Anything that is rated 5 and above create a new list.
As you look at this new list ask yourself these questions.
- If I don't do this, how much will it affect my life?
- Is this a necessary part of my growth and well being?
- Is this a necessary part of someone I loves' growth and well being?
- If I could do something else, what would I replace it with?
- Is this a "I should do it" or a "I really want to do it".
By now your list will be narrowed down to what is really crucial to your well being and growth. We spend a lot of time thinking we need to do things that really doesn't matter to us in the long run. When you let go of that "should", you create space to do what really matters to you.
Enjoy your spring cleaning! Be well, Mona
