When you think of the word POWER, what comes to mind? Someone who knows himself/herself? Someone who is rich, smart, beautiful? What is true power?
Power is a tricky word and comes with many positive and negative attachments. For some power means internal power and for others it means external power. The word power itself has no meaning until the person using it expresses it.
So is power an individual thing? Yes, the person using it defines what the outcome will be. There is personal power and there is societal power. Personal power is being clear about oneself, knowing where you're going, what your compelling vision is, asking for what you need, trusting that you can figure things out, knowing that you are capable of learning no matter what.
Societal power is someone like Oprah. She has incredible amounts of influence around the world. With this power comes incredible amount of responsibility. Every thought, feeling, word that she expressed is scrutinized and observed. Her personal power influences her societal power. The intentions of why she's doing what she's doing matters. If it's for good or for evil.
In the next few days or so, check in a see how you express your power. Why you are doing what you're doing.
Be healthy, be well.
